The Companies We Keep

If you believe a place is known by the company it keeps, then we think we’ve got it made!  Bulloch County has some of the finest corporations providing some of the greatest products and services in this nation.  Here are just of few of our citizen companies:

Briggs & Stratton:
With 96 years of history building engines, the Statesboro Briggs and Stratton Plant is the third largest employer in the region with 950 employees. The plant's success is a result of the availability of infrastructure support, location, and a readily available skilled workforce.

Wal-Mart Distribution:
We are home to the largest Wal-Mart distribution center in the United States and proudly serve as Wal Mart’s largest hub in handling all imported products offered in the Wal-Mart stores.  This is due 100% to Bulloch County’s close proximity to the Port of Savannah, its central location to major Southeast and Midwest population centers, its access to interstates, and its rail as major determining factors to locate here.

Vericon:
Bulloch County is proud home to Viracon, an international company of the Glass Technologies Division of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. The company produces high-performance glass products, including tempered, laminated, insulating, security, silkscreened, privacy and high-performance coatings. Bulloch County was chosen over locations in 26 states.

Robbins Packing:
Bulloch County is not only home to the GSU Eagles, but home to one of the makers of favorite GSU tailgating products – meats and sausages.  Robbins Packing is a home grown favorite and has been processing and distributing meat for over 40 years (check).

Great Dane:
The newest company to announce its intent to operate in Bulloch County is none other than Great Dane, the finest and largest truck company in the U.S.  Great Dane will operate with more than 400 skilled, hard working residents to manufacture refrigerated trucks by 2012 when it’s new plant opens in the state of the art Gateway Industrial Park.

King America:
Bulloch County is home to King America which provides preparation, dyeing, finishing and other services to the textile industry.  For more than 40 years, King America has become a trusted name among the premier textile companies in the country and the company employs more than 175 workers in the area, maintaining a 400,000+ square foot facility that can process more than 50,000 sq. ft. annually.

Braswell Foods:
Preserving a fine tradition since 1946, Braswell Foods serves up the most delicious dressings, jellies, jams, preserves and sauces in that southern tradition that keeps sales humming along.  Where else would they choose to distribute nationally and internationally than Bulloch County, where the central location keeps operational costs low.

East Georgia Regional Medical:
After opening in July of 2000, East Georgia Regional Medical has continued to expand, adding new services to greatly improve the quality of care available to our residents. ECRM is one of the most advanced regional hospitals in Georgia offering companies extraordinary service for their work forces and families.  This 236,000 square foot facility was completed at a total cost of approximately $60 million and is one of the reasons that the quality of life in our county is outstanding.

The Sack Company:
 H.A. Sack has established its reputation by safely providing high quality installation, maintenance and construction services to industrial, commercial, educational, institutional, military, and healthcare clients. Consisting of two separate divisions, The Sack Company and SCM, Inc. H.A. Sack promises to meet your requirements whether they be new construction, plant renovation or plant maintenance.

Brodie Meters:
Bulloch County is home to Brodie Meters, the industry leader in the production and distribution of high precision liquid flow meters and valves used in the custody transfer of petroleum products.
