BRIGGS & STRATTON

With 96 years of history building engines, the Statesboro Briggs and Stratton Plant is the third largest employer in the region with  950 employees.  The plant's success is a result of the availability of infrastructure support, location, and a readily available skilled workforce.
 

EAST GEORGIA MEDICAL CENTER

After opening in July of 2000, it has continued to add new services to greatly improve the quality of care available to our residents.  This 236,000 square foot facility was completed at a total cost of approximately $60 million and is one of the reasons that the quality of life in our county is outstanding.

WAL-MART DISTRIBUTION CENTER

We are home to the largest Wal-Mart distribution center in the United States.  In handling all imported products offered in the Wal-Mart stores, the close proximity to the Savannah Ports, interstates, and rail were a major determining factor to build here.  Add our strong sense of community, pro-business government, excellent schools, and trained workforce, and you can see why we are proud to have Wal-Mart in our community as a business partner.

VIRACON

Viracon is an international company of the Glass Technologies Division of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. The company produces high-performance glass products, including tempered, laminated, insulating, security, silkscreened, privacy and high-performance coatings.  Our location was chosen over locations in 26 states.
