The Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber's proactive committees help us achieve our mission of supporting our businesses and our community. Engage in the Chamber by volunteering with one our dynamic committees, which include:
Special Events: Plans, organizes and hosts events that enable the Chamber to operate its member programs and services.
Education: Serves as liaison to primary and secondary schools and other educational institutions for issues that affect the business community. Also recognizes students and educators as well as programs which encourage student achievement.
Small Business: Promotes small business among the public and to governmental bodies through Georgia Retail Week, Gifts Unlimited Program and National Small Business Week. Serves on the Entrepreneur Friendly Steering Committee in conjunction with Ogeechee Technical College.
New Entrepreneurs Club: Coming under the umbrella of the Small Business Committee, this club has no program of work and exists to receive support from the Chamber and its members. Each of these Chamber members has recently started a business for the first time in Bulloch County. The group has small, informal discussions about business issues and receives mentoring and the benefit of the experience of long-time successful businesses in our community. This is an example of the Chamber making a difference in helping fledgling businesses flourish.
Health Industry Committee: New to the Chamber in 2011, this group represents a significant segment of the local economy. Though formed in the spring, the group has already undertaken a successful event by hosting electronic medical records vendors at a local venue so that the health providers required to have EMR in the near future would not have to travel to Atlanta, Dallas or other sites for a similar opportunity to review and select this complex software.
Industry and Large Business: Supports and sponsors the Work Ready Program with Ogeechee Technical College, Governor’s Manufacturing Award of the Year and Student Manufacturing Award. Also hosts area companies in an annual retreat and a managers' roundtable.
Agribusiness: Organizes, promotes and presents programs such as Farm City Week, Annual Local Farm and Farm Family Award/Luncheon, and an agri-business dinner with State representatives. Also presents the M.L. Miller Memorial Scholarship Award.
Membership : Supervises programs designed to increase and maintain membership and serves as a review board for value-added member services.
Governmental Operations/Programs: Serves as liaison for businesses and local, state and federal elected officials. Hosts seminars, networking events and legislative forums for keeping our members in touch.
Leadership Bulloch: Coordinates and implements each year’s class of Leadership Bulloch, a program aimed at identifying, developing and encouraging community leader
